Allongé at Cyprus Fashion Film Festival
Allongé collection has been first showcased on runway at CFFF. Meanwhile Allongé fashion film directed by Erdogan Kavaz has been displayed on the event. The film was inspired by the collection and it´s story.
The collection draws inspiration from the architectural beauty of ancient Cypriot hammams, particularly their signature domes and roofs, which symbolize perfection, unity, and the eternal cycle of life.
The designer pays homage to this heritage by creating pieces that blur the lines between past, present, and future. Influenced by stories from Koral's grandmother, the collection embodies themes of sisterhood, freedom, and shared care, reflecting an inherited connection to both place and identity.
Emphasizing a natural aesthetic with exclusively natural fibers, the designs
feature fluid fabrics and circular forms that echo hammam architecture. Central to the collection is macramé, symbolizing family and unity, showcased through delicate side panels. Large circles and curves create a striking visual impact, celebrating the craftsmanship and influence of Mesaourian women.
The term "Allongé," borrowed from ballet, encapsulates the designer's journey of self-discovery and connection, representing nuance and refinement in this continuous process.
Camino at “Revive” exhibition in London and Cyprus
Camino was first exhibited in Cyprus in Revive Exhibition organized by Fashion Heritage Network Cyprus. It was presented like a trilogy, accompanied by a short fashion film directed by Erdogan Kavaz. Later on exhibition was moved to London and exhibited at Cyprus High Comission.
In ths journey, Koral explores a place where possibilities are limitless and forms are fluid—a dreamlike space filled with bittersweet memories that shape the person who is today. It evokes feelings of nostalgia for his grandfather's farm, a site of happiness and freedom, intertwined with the black strings known as which he used to tie bales.
This imagery inspires a hand-knitted black dress, symbolizing the potential of upcycling waste into high-quality garments. Central to this narrative are the women of his family, particularly his grandmother, who embody connection and warmth, much like the act of knitting. Through this project, he celebrates these bonds, illustrating how weaving together individual threads can create something uniquely beautiful.
Camino at “There is an island exhibition” in London
On 2024, Camino was accepted to another exhibition which is called "There is an island" at Cyprus House in London which was offering a captivating journey into the diverse world of Cypriot artistry.
The exhibition showcased a diverse range of visual arts, photography, and fashion, with Camino prominently featured. The captivating designs drew significant public interest, presenting a rich tapestry of artistic expression.
A narrative from Camino says;
"When I was in that place, everything was possible. All forms were valid. There were no defined shapes or silhouettes. I find myself in a dream in the past , a place that occasionally brings me pain. It is a place of both beginnings and endings."
